<p>Bourby is the Founder and former CEO of Perth Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra that <em>makes</em> the rules and has a mission of ‘Music for Everyone’.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Founded in 2011, the orchestra was created by Bourby with an ambition to reach a massive new audience in WA. She also passionately wished to find a way to retain talent in WA, creating jobs for, and showcasing, WA’s incredible musicians.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Since Perth Symphony’s launch in 2011, it has performed to more than 100 people per year in locations from Karratha to Kwinana, in spaces from car parks to warehouses, playing Vivaldi to Nirvana. Perth Symphony regularly gives work to 150 musicians a year also creating pathways into professional careers for WA’s aspiring younger musicians. Perth Symphony’s Education and Community programs have reached 20,000+ children, and seen remarkable collaborations with aboriginal poets, VJs, actors, dancers and partnerships with numerous organisations across WA. The orchestra is redefining the perception of a symphony for the 21<sup>st</sup> Symphony with its ground-breaking business model and artistic program. The Women on the Podium program Bourby created in 2019 is unique in the Southern Hemisphere and is developing female conductors, currently only 5% of the global conducting faculty.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In 2017 Bourby created the Arts Leaders Collective to support leaders of new arts companies and is passionate about supporting women in the arts.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Bourby has an MA in music from Oxford University, is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and has an MBA from UWA. In 2022 she was named in Business News’ Power 500 list, and has been a winner of a Business News 40 Under 40 award for Entrepreneurs and a finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards (WA).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p>In 2019 she was named Western Australian of the Year (Arts &amp; Culture).&nbsp;</p>



<p>She was a founding member of the UK-based electric string quartet ‘bond’ signed to Decca Records. She is a medal-winning, international-level coxswain and was the first female coxswain in 106 years of the WA Kings Cup State Rowing Crew in 2002. </p>

<p>Christine Melis<br>Barrister at the NSW Bar</p>



<p>Christine is a Barrister. She practises in public law including, inquiries and inquests. She is presently Counsel Assisting the Special Commission of Inquiry into LGBTIQ hate crimes in New South Wales. &nbsp;</p>



<p>&nbsp;She has advised and appeared in a variety of high-profile matters including, the Lindt Cafe siege inquest, the Takata Airbag inquest and the Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission.&nbsp;</p>



<p>&nbsp;Chris has an interest in national security. She has considerable experience working in the terrorism space at a State and Federal level. &nbsp;</p>



<p>She has both worked and taught advocacy in the Pacific Region, appearing on a number of occasions before the Supreme Court of Nauru on behalf of asylum seekers and teaching advocacy to law students and lawyers in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Vanuatu.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Chris is passionate about gender equality and diversity. She has served on a number of boards and committees including Australian Women Lawyers (Vice President), Victorian Women Lawyers (President), Victorian Bar Council and Women Barristers Forum (NSW). She spearheaded a mentoring program for female law students in PNG called &#8220;<em>Empowering Women in the Law in PNG</em>&#8221; to encourage women to enter into and remain in the legal profession. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Chris wants to see more women in positions of leadership and for working mothers everywhere to be seen for what they are – resilient, efficient, diverse and empathetic powerhouses. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Prior to coming to the Bar, Chris was the Associate to Justice Cavanough of the Supreme Court of Victoria and a solicitor with Minter Ellison Lawyers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Maria joined SGUA in August 2021 and is responsible for managing the operations, human resources, and strategic direction of two large Australian Landlord insurance companies.&nbsp;</p>



<p>She has been in the insurance industry for the last 18 years where she has held a variety of roles , during her time in insurance she has championed Diversity &amp; Inclusion and Women Empowerment having created and run a D&amp;I committee and forming part of another called “Celebrating Women”, a group who work on helping other women advance their careers by offering workshops around confidence, personal brand, finances etc.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Maria holds qualifications in insurance and Business Administration and she is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Management with AIM.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Just three years ago Sister Project began in the Ellenbrook Library with just 15 participants. Women came together to learn English, do craft and meet other women. Sister Project now runs many programs, workshops and events and has grown to approximately 120+ women who originate from almost every continent in the world and travel from all parts of Perth to participate.&nbsp; In Sister Project we realise we have more in common then differences. Everyone wants to feel like they belong and have the opportunity to create the best future for themselves. In Sister Project this is our focus and driving force.</p>

<p>She&#8217;s also worked in house for two football clubs, at Chelsea TV, and she set up Real Madrid TV in Spain. &nbsp;</p>



<p>As a global football expert and presenter Alison has hosted live match-day shows, highlights programmes, debate shows and call-in shows focussing on Premier League, Champions League, European and World Football.&nbsp;</p>



<p>She’s interviewed all the greats from Pele, Maradona and Beckham to Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Alison has travelled the world hosting World Cups and European Championships. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Jade Collins has 20 years’ global experience in corporate executive Human&nbsp;Resources and management consulting roles in the Mining, Energy and&nbsp;Aerospace industries, leading large scale, complex multi-million-dollar change&nbsp;management programs. Jade finds the combination of her HR, Psychology and&nbsp;MBA qualifications and her leadership experience is invaluable for creating&nbsp;networks and engaging others to increase gender equality in leadership across&nbsp;industries. Jade was a member of the Queensland Government&#8217;s Strategic&nbsp;Advisory Group for the Toward Gender Parity: Women on Boards Initiative and&nbsp;the 2019 CQU Alumni.&nbsp;</p>

Sam has over 25 years’ experience in senior management, human resources, consulting and operational roles working for a range of organisations. Prior to joining IGO, Sam led large workforce- based businesses within Aherns Department Stores and Ansett Airlines, before turning to roles in Human Resource management across the mining, finance, legal and biomedical sectors.</em></p>



<p><strong><em>Sam’s role is to provide leadership and oversight of all People and Culture activities, including diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, learning and talent development and reinforcing the organisation’s culture, purpose and values.</em></strong></p>
